About the Role
Due to internal promotions, our Internal Audit department is looking to appoint a new member to their team. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Banking/Financial Services Auditor to gain broad business exposure within a dynamic retail bank.
Reporting to our Head of Internal Audit, our valued Auditors work collaboratively with the team, Management and employees both in Head Office and in our branch locations conducting audits that consider business risk issues and assess the robustness of management controls. More specifically, activities and responsibilities of the role include:
- Executing audit programs that evaluate IMB's governance, operations, and information systems (incorporating performance of fieldwork and documentation of audit testing results)
- Analysing, evaluating, and testing business processes, recommending improvements, draft reports and findings and liaising with employees of all levels
- Testing the robustness and application of management controls as they apply to department policies and procedures and regulatory and legislative frameworks
- Ensuring accurate and timely monitoring and reporting of internal audit findings and opportunities of continuous improvement
- Maintaining the Audit Findings Register
- The preparation of reports for key stakeholders, including Management and the Board.

About the Person
- Demonstrated audit experience in banking and/or financial services (preferably min 4 years exp)
- Business and commercial acumen with a commitment to continuous improvement
- Knowledge of key compliance issues, including but not limited to the Australian Accounting and Auditing Standards and APRA Standards with an understanding of and an ability to interpret legislative, regulatory and policy frameworks
- Ability to build and develop strong relationships within the business
- Genuine interest and skills in mentoring and educating colleagues and the business in relation to effective risk management and controls
- Investigative and enquiring mind with the capability to collate, critically analyse data and use data analytic tools in the assessment of business performance and to provide insights in an evolving digital environment
- Effective writing, reporting and use of technology, systems and software
- Tertiary qualifications in a related degree and any industry accreditation's advantageous.
