About the role
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Internal Auditor
This role will ideally be based within in the Essential Energy footprint with the ability to work from home in a hybrid work environment.
As a Senior Internal Auditor, you’ll lead end-to-end audits and advisory reviews across business processes, systems, and functions, ensuring alignment with best practices and internal standards. You’ll oversee Internal Auditors and co-sourced providers, deliver high-quality audit outcomes, and provide strategic advice on risk, controls, and process improvements. The role also involves contributing to audit planning, continuous improvement initiatives, and promoting a culture of integrity, inclusion, and excellence across the organisation. This role will report to the Head of Internal Audit.
About You
You’re an experienced internal auditor with 4 – 6 years gained in a professional service or industry. Successful in leading complex audits, managing stakeholders, and mentoring teams. You bring industry knowledge across sectors like energy and infrastructure, and are skilled in data analytics, audit methodologies, and regulatory frameworks. With excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills, you thrive in fast-paced environments and deliver high-quality outcomes with precision and attention to detail.
About your skills
- Strong knowledge of internal audit methodologies, systems, and techniques
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Advanced report writing and project management capabilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic query applications
- Effective time management and attention to detail
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Business or related discipline, or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications
- Drivers Licence
Desirable
- Relevant post-graduate qualifications e.g. CPA, CA, CISA, CIA
